Westwater Canyon
Full Day - Class III/IV
“The West's Best Short Whitewater Trip” by National Geographic.
Westwater Canyon is a relatively short, narrow, extremely scenic cleft which the Colorado River has gouged and polished through an ancient uplift of black Precambrian schist. Soaring red sandstone cliffs cap the jet black schist, providing a striking contrast. Twelve sharp, technical rapids with names like Funnel Falls, Bowling Alley, Surprise and the infamous Skull, are encountered during this seventeen-mile trip. With only 75 total commercial passengers in the canyon per day this is a river not to be missed and a step up from the Fisher Towers trip. 15 years and older only!
Meeting Time: 7:30am
Adult $150/Youth $135
